Days 1-3
Explore volcanic São Miguel, an island made up of vivid colors and bright green hills • Walk with family around viridian Furnas Lake to reach a collection of steaming fumaroles • Witness chefs cooking the famous cozido das furnas stew in geothermal soil • Discover the north shore’s dramatic cliffs and shoreline by foot • Historic watermills, breathtaking bluffs and panoramic views are on display • Eat fresh seafood in a charming coastal village • Bike through remote Azorean villages with traditional stucco homes and age-old cobblestone streets • Keep your camera handy as we gaze at sweeping vistas of the volcanic shoreline and ocean beyond.
