Begin your journey in the Hudson Valley with a ride along the lovely Catskills and see for yourself why it’s drawn artists and writers for centuries • Take in breathtaking views of the mountains as you bike around Ashokan Reservoir, a fresh source of drinking water for New York City • Pedal past acres of farmland, orchards, green pastures and white church steeples • Explore the unique galleries, shops and cafés of legendary Woodstock, where “peace, love and happiness” still reign • Ride along the scenic Esopus Creek to the village of Phoenicia, a haven which many musicians and artists call home • Relax to the sounds of a rushing stream at our retreat.

Route & Terrain Notes

Most of the routes on this trip are on well-paved roads and pathways, although the occasional pothole or loose gravel is expected. Some roads have narrow to no shoulder, and we mostly ride on quiet country roads with minimal, relatively slow-moving traffic. The routes through the Catskills and foothills of the Berkshires have numerous rises and valleys, and the continuously rolling terrain can make routes feel more challenging than the mileage may suggest.
